Spending the best night in my buddy line... It's really not easy to gathere the whole buddy line together, but we make it! Glad to say that this gathering even involves my 'kai' great grand buddy... It's really fun spending time and sharing thoughts together without any gap among us... Hence it proves, there is no boundary even though we are from different years... Haha... This shows how successful my buddy line is, and I'm really very proud of being a part of this precious buddy line... Having a shy but cute little buddy, a buddy who is so 'ngam-key' with me until we seems like having endless topics to chat with each other, a brilliant grand buddy who can get crazy easily, and finally a super-nice 'kai' great grand buddy who is so easy to get in with... Singing karaoke, enjoying buffet, re-celebrating my buddy's birthday, sharing thoughts with juniors etc. What a great moment we have here... Fuyoh! Eagerly waiting for similar gatherings in future...

经常觉得周边人与事很容易影响自己，尽管它并不是那么重要。
经常觉得自己所懂的东西，所有的知识，总是比别人少。
经常觉得自己总是不喜欢与别人不同，总是想成为大部分的其中一个。
经常觉得自己一直不知足，一直看不开，对于小事都会耿耿于怀。

Be Tough

It has been about one month ago since I last wrote my blog. The life being a 2nd year medical students is so hectic, and I wonder why last year all the seniors seem like quite relax while I have been more than one month not going for outing. But if we really think that our life now is hectic, then we might not be able to survive when we enter clinical years... Hehe... Personally I think that this is one of the factors contributing to the emotional imbalance among my friends and I... A lot of people are emo these days, easily get irritated, angry and frustrated over something tiny and not-so-important, including me as well... Within a day, I might be happy for the 1st minute and get down for the next minute. 'Hypersensitivity' is also one of the symptoms as well as we tends to be too sensitive and think too much over something small, or doesn't exist... We tends to create a lot of reasons behind that happening or action, and get down over it then... Perhaps in certain cases, there are really some big problems happening around them, but just to say, BE TOUGH... Life is still a long long road to go, medical life is going to accompany us for the rest of our life, not only when we are just medical students, but also when we work as a doctor in future... I'm still learning to overcome and cope with the ups and downs in my life...

Complicated

Lots of things happened within this week. Since last week, lots of 1st and 2nd year medical students here were getting sick, and the coughing sounds were just like the background sound effects of the lecturer's voice during the lecture, and now we are not going to have the chance to get into the campus anymore this week... Lots of juniors getting sick (fever, cough and sore throat), and as seniors, we brought them to hospital and clinic to see doctors... And now, lots of seniors get sick now... We are really applying what we have learned in Medicine and Society module into our daily life here now... Although till now we still don't know whether there are positive cases in college or not, college residents were quarantined for one week, campus was closed down without letting any students to enter it, classes were canceled and perhaps we are going to have no semester break in August anymore...

Being quarantined is not something pleasant for sure, therefore lots of juniors were running away from the college secretly... unfortunately, some were caught, matrix card were submitted to vice chancellor, they were kicked out from staying in college (this is the latest news that I can ever get right now) and they are now worrying whether they will lose their chances to study in medicine faculty or not... The consequences are really unpredictable... But since it has already happened, just hope that everything will be fine and they will be forgiven...

The problem doesn't end here... Indonesia medical students are coming here to visit UKM as an exchange with our students here this week... Unfortunately, all the academic sessions were canceled, some of us were quarantined, some were sick, some went home... It is really difficult to find a balanced point between the responsibility of being an EXCO and a son... I felt guilty to leave others treating the Indon students alone, but at the same time the force and pressure from parents (especially my father) did not make me feel good as well... Health and responsibility, which one should I choose? I have been struggled, and finally decided to finish half of my job before going back... I know that for sure there are people who are still not agree with what I have done, but I can just say sorry to you all... I will try to do everything to reduce my guilt, and I am willing to do more in the following activities... Perhaps this is the best option that I can make... Thousands of sorry...

I finally understand the true meaning of ‘apply what you have learned in your daily life’… We all are just busy preparing for the Medicine and Society Minitest during the last weekend, and now we all are suspected to have H1N1 where the residential college is closed down and the students are all quarantined. Faculty is closed too where we are asked to go back home to have a week of holiday… We just learned about ‘outbreak’, ‘quarantine’, ‘isolation’ etc and now we apply all of them in our life… Haha … how ironic it is… I want to go back home, my parents and my dr. uncle ask me to do so, but afraid that I am the carrier; want to stay here but afraid that if I m neither the carrier nor the patient at all, I might get the virus from my friends… Can someone teach me what to do? Besides, pity also to those Indonesia students who are coming to UKM this week as an exchange with our students here. Being surrounded by the atmosphere full of virus and threats… They can’t join all the academic session prepared for them since the faculty is closed; they can’t join the social activities as well because most of the AMSEP members are sick… By the way, impossible to ask them to fly back to Indonesia now also… What to do now? Please tell me…

Unexpected

He is a guy who deserves the name called by all his 2^nd year friends. I’m not kidding at all but he is really protective enough in every sense of daily life. Being the head in this family (not to say the bread winner), he has done a lot of things to protect every single member in this family. He is the one who represents us to fight for something, to get the things we want, to protect us from any threats, to keep the family in a harmonious and peaceful condition. Just a small incident happened yesterday night, a moth which flew into the master room made the other 3 guys crazy as 3 of them are insectophobia. Again he is the one who get the moth away from the house. Haha… It is not only to this family, but to his buddy too. Although he is not that well in communication sometimes, where there is a gap between him and his buddy (I believe most of us face this problem as well), he is trying hard to overcome it. He even spent the whole night, neglect his sleep at all, preparing notes for his buddy. It is not as simple as collecting, sorting and compiling the notes, but he referred back his big senior’s notes and added the extra information that is useful to his little buddy inside the notes. I believe that none of us are doing so… Believe me, he is the best friend that I have ever met…

So glad that I have a little buddy officially... Both of us are from the same primary and secondary school and left-handed, and we always go home too! Haha... I've made a right choice for choosing him as my buddy... I feel that there is still a small gap between us, but I believe that this is only because we are still not knowing each other deeply la... Time will change everything for sure... Haha... And Jun Xiang, you are the luckiest junior for being chosen by me as buddy... (Lots of people going to hemtam me liao...) Haha... Lots of the seniors get the buddies that they are satisfied with and vice versa but each coin has two faces... Perhaps 5 days is really not enough to find a really 'ngam key' buddy in my opinion (not saying me but the others)... Taking but not planning to treat... How pity the junior would be... No care, no guide, no help, nothing... Felt alone and left alone... Suspection or disatisfaction from the little buddies is a sharp thorn in the heart of the senior as well... What a big mess while choosing buddies... Perhaps every year the same thing happens... Haih, nothing is perfect... Hope that when time goes by, everything will be fine...

Thanks, friends... It's really a surprise to me! Totally unexpected because it's already 20 days after my birthday, who'll know that there is a belated birthday celebration?! Haha... Never expected that you all still remember it... It has been so many times organizing birthdays for other people, and this is really the 1st time my friends organize such a birthday celebration for me...

At first, I just noticed that lots of my friends going to Timesquare having lunch that day, but to me, it was normal since everybody may want to enjoy or celebrate for their 1st day of entering 2nd year. Some were eating somewhere else in Timesquare while some came into the restaurant to eat too when we were going to take the order. Later after finishing my lunch, Kent suddenly came in with a birthday cake and everybody (even those eating somewhere else) started singing the birthday song... At that moment, I was searching for someone who was not clapping his/her hands as he/she might be the birthday boy/girl tat day... Until I heard the 3rd line of the lyric, "Happy Birthday to Khai Pin"... I was totally shocked at that time... I checked the cake and can't believe that the name written on that cake is my name! 32 friends celebrating my birthday and giving me a surprise! I have never celebrated my birthday like this previously. Every year, I celebrated it at home with my family and maybe a few friends (this year too). Never think that there will be a belated celebration after 20 days... And from them, I knew that actually this was Ah Siang's idea. He had planned it long time ago, wanna give me a different way of celebration and an unforgettable birthday. Thanks everyone especially Ah Siang for giving me such a pleasant memory. But Ah Siang, u really jahat loh, asking everybody not to wish me on my birthday, luckily I still have other friends sending wishes to me and did not notice about it... Haha... He and Neo told me that the real surprise was still at home, and I wondered what will happen after I went home...

A piece of handmade card was being slipped under my unfolded clothes on my bed. It was a thick card indeed. Besides the cover, there are 20 pages inside the card (perhaps I should say it is a book), representing the 20 days start from my birthday. Each page was written with wishes from my friends, and some (especially my potatoes) even wrote their wishes in every pages, bringing out the meaning of wishing me everyday... Touched... For sure Ah Siang had prepared it for a long time... Writing at the midnight or during the lecture, everything that u all had done and written makes me feel warm and touched until now... I never know that I have so many friends care n concern about me... Haha... Thanks a lot, my friends...

This is not the 1st blog in my life as I did write blogs in friendster and msn space previously. However, this blog is quite meaningful to me as this is the blog that I will be using after starting my university life as a medical student in UKM. Perhaps I can say, a new life, a new blog... Sounds very weird right? Haha, I feel that too... Ermm, not much to say in my 1st blog but just want to share some thoughts and feelings with all my friends... It will be the same too in the following blogs...
